Robbie Dalgleish is having his Arai helmet spruced up with a nice custom paint job

Robbie's helmet as received begining to strip the helmet down - looks like it will need a bit of additional prep as there were a few chips and Robbie has obviously had to race in pretty tough condition with it
after completing the stripping and masking the deepest chips are filled with specialist acrylic putty after rubbing it all smooth the helmet is geiven a basecoat of white followed by a coat of pearl white - ready to start the interesting bit with the design 
Starting the design layout - quite complicated to make sure it is well balanced more masking and more layout - ready for the thin black lines
spray on the pearl black lines then mask off for the saltire on top
saltire sprayed on - irredescent electric blue and pearl white with some shading around the edge and an extra coat of cosmic sparkle for some added bling masking removed - to show effect
mask off for the fluorescent orange flourescent orange sprayed on
masking removed - to show effect masking removed from the white band - so we can see more of the design
masked up ready fro the silver - aluminium base which has a nice sparkle to it too silver sprayed on
Masking removed - looks good now mask up for the pearl blue area
pearl blue sprayed on plus a little bit of highlighting marking removed - biginning to take shape now
then reverse the masking, and add the graphics from Robbie's name after the fluorescent orange is sprayed on the masking is all removed - really looking smart now - ready for some clear lacquer
After several coats of clear lacquer - looks good the lacquer really brings out the sparkle on the top
spoiler and vents painted ready for lacquer helmet rubbed down and more lacquer and vents/spoiler lacquered. placed on the helmet for a preview picture here
with Martin Millar's visor borrowed for a picture - Robbie's helmet is ready to go
