Scottish Cadet Adam Mackay had an accident the other week at Rowrah.
Fortunately Adam will be OK although he did suffer a fracture in his wrist - later MRI scan showed it wasn't too bad
Dad Iain said "He
was really shaken up but mentally he is up for getting back in the
seat.. Unfortunately the plaster cast that now covers his hand fracture
may hamper things slightly!!"
He also scratched his new helmet so we will be making sure that it's safe and repairing the paintwork if possible. Adam is certainly showing promise - we suspect it's down to his choice of helmet painter - along with Scotland's top cadet at the moment David McNicol.

The Rotax Super One British Championships moved to Buckmore Park, near Maidstone last weekend. Last year, in the TKM Super One round Martyn qualified fastest in his session (2nd fastest overall) and ended up on the front row of the grid in the final. What a difference a change of class has made!
After a couple of useful days testing on Friday and Saturday in the hot sunshine (mostly) Martyn was close enough - within a couple of 10ths of the very fastest, but faster than most.
On old tyres he had lapped at 39.00s - only -0.3s outside the lap record. However, on Saturday it rained, then dried and by the time Martyn was ready to try fresh slicks he only had 2 sessions of practice and the best he managed was a 39.1s lap....

GOOGLE EARTH
We've been playing around a bit with Google Earth for a couple of years. It's a great bit of software and we've found it very helpful and quite good fun.
If you've not tried it you can download it for free from http://earth.google.com/
Over time the aerial pictures have gradually improved and most of the UK's kart tracks are visible. We've used it to get the GPS co-ordinates and plugged them into our sat-nav system so that we can accurately find the tracks. Very useful given the amount of travelling we do.....
If you have installed Google Earth then just download this file and it should start automatically.

As last year's TKM champion in the Motors TV series Martyn was pleased to see the following announcement on UK Karting (www.karting.co.uk)
Following the postponement of the championship series at the start of the year, confirmation has been announced that a Motors TV Mini-Series: a three meeting 6 round championship televised for Motors TV, is to go ahead starting at Glan-y-Gors Park on September 20th/21st, followed by rounds at Llandow on October 11th/12th and Rowrah on November 1st/2nd. The Motors TV series producer Alan Taddei said the series will run subject to sufficient entry levels being received in at least four of the classes. "Drivers have been registering interest for the championship since February and it looks like we will have more than enough to run the event, and in some classes may be oversubscribed. The shorter nature of the series with racing on Saturday and Sunday, and a new traditional race format on Sundays seems to be a popular initiative".
Minimax, Jnr Rotax, Snr Rotax, W60 Cadet, Formula Blue and WTP Rookie (for drivers who have not raced any MSA events before Jan 2008) will run at GYG, with the WTP Rookie Class substituted with WTP for the meetings at Llandow and Rowrah.
Of course - Martyn will enter this - but this time he will be in the hotly contested Rotax Max class. He is likely to be up against at least 2 other 2007 champions, Paul Janes and Michael West as well as Rotax runner up John Stewart and current Super One series-leader and ex TKM racer Luke Caudle. Further details and entry forms are available from the website at www.kartingtv.tv.
